Lalima scheme is being conducted by the department for better health of children, adolescent girls and women of reproductive age group and prevention of anemia / nutrition awareness among adolescent girls. Lalima Abhiyan has been launched to prevent anemia in children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers.Integrated Child Development (ICDS) has started this  campaign to prevent anemia.Under this campaign, adolescent girls, pregnant women and mothers feeding children will be given information about nutritious diet, along with ways to keep them healthy.Due to lack of proper food, a large number of teenagers and women are becoming anemic. If the mother is weak then the baby  in her womb will also be born weak. Under this campaign, iron folic acid tablets will be made available free of cost to Anganwadis, educational institutions and hospitals. This campaign will operate on mission mode by Women and Child Development Department with the cooperation of Public Health Department, AYUSH and School Education Department .The campaign will also promote natural, traditional and modern measures to eliminate anemia. It is noteworthy that anemia is a common health problem in women, adolescents and children. In this disease, blood deficiency occurs in the body. 

Beneficiary

1)         All school going school and teenager Girls

2)          All pregnant and lactating women

3)         All children 6 months to 10 years old

4)         Women of all reproductive age groups (19 to 49 years)

The number of beneficiaries is determined on the basis of survey and registration and school education department of Anganwadi centers of women child development.

Beneficiary Benefits

This scheme has been launched in mission mode for three years, in view of the need to protect against anemia and propagate its adverse effects, Lalima scheme has been started in the state to protect children from 6 months to 5 years of age in anganwadi centers from anemia.. Folic acid supplements are given in collaboration with the Department of  Health.

How To get Benefit of the  Scheme (point-wise completion of application)

Determination of the number of  beneficiaries is  made by survey and registration done by Anganwadi centers of women and child development. There is no application form process to take advantage of this scheme.
